MOTHERBOARD PAINTINGS, 2011 - 2015

These paintings carry on the theme if appropriating images from video posted of anonymous people on the Internet.

Posted or streaming videos were selected from which an individual image was isolated and painted on a mosaic of recycled computer motherboards using traditional oil paint. The mosaic arrangement was either secured to inflexible substrate, as in the piece Mother Bored, or where “stitched” together as was done for Millennial Boy.

The use of translucent oil paint allows for the texture and patterns of the computer motherboards to become part of the final image acting as both an aesthetic element and a metaphor.
